Here are some links to products we use personally and/or recommend to our clients.

Antivirus And Antispyware

MalwareBytes is currently one of the absolute best antimalware softwares. We have used it to clean clients' computers and have had excellent results. It is easy to install and setup. Update and scanning can be set to automatic. We recommend updating at least once a day, and scanning once a day. Updating does not slow down your computer, scanning does, so we recommend to set the product to scan late at night (or early in the morning) when you usually are not using the computer.

AntiSpam

Internet Search

Copernic Agent allows you to do parallel searching with more than 900 search engines in 120 specialized categories. It you are a student and/or if you are serious about your Internet searches this is an absolute must.

Firewalls

Visnetic Firewall is a good an inexpensive firewall for desktops, laptops and servers. Setting up a firewall might require a relativley high elvel of knowledge. Unless you are sure you know what you are doing we recommend you ask us to do the installation and configuration. A firewall that is not installed properly is useless as a defense and can be very dangerous because of the false security feeling it creates in the user.
